Baker Hughes Launches New Waygate Technologies Ultrasonic Precision Thickness Gauge Krautkrämer CL Go+

HUERTH, Germany, 30. April, 2024 – Waygate Technologies, a Baker Hughes business and world leader in non-destructive testing (NDT) solutions for industrial inspection, today launched its new ultrasonic precision thickness gauge, the Krautkrämer CL Go+.

This versatile and convenient inspection tool is particularly suitable for components utilized in the automotive and aerospace industries. It efficiently measures cast and stamped metal components made from materials such as aluminum, steel, copper, and bronze. Additionally, it is effective for machined workpieces, tubes, chemically milled components, metal plates, plastics and composites, as well as glass. Also, it can be upgraded to a versatile 3-in-1 platform functioning as a corrosion thickness gauge, flaw detector, or both.

Measurement Precision in a Robust Package

Building on 75 years of innovation, the Krautkrämer CL Go+ offers a measurement precision of 0.001 mm (0.0001”), ensuring maximum accuracy for common applications. The portable, compact and rugged device comes with an intuitive menu and easy-to-use switch pad control. It also boasts powerful data management capabilities, allowing users to store and analyze inspection data with ease. The system can be operated in two different modes, depending on the skill level of the inspector, making it a versatile tool for any team.

The device uses advanced techniques and automatic gain control for stable readings under diverse conditions. It optimizes accuracy with high-resolution A-Scan, gates, finite impulse response up-sampling, interpolated zero-cross measurement, and various calibration modes.

Additional practical features include a 5” crisp and clear as well as responsive display for advanced indoor and outdoor visibility, large readouts to eliminate eye strain, and an superior screen-to-body ratio. Its lightweight and single-hand operation make it easy to use, while its ambidextrous design enables left or right-hand operation. The device is robust enough to be used in a variety of challenging environments, with an IP67 ingress protection rating and a MIL510 military standard testing evaluation.

Users of CL Go+ have the option to upgrade their device, which will transform it into a versatile 3-in-1 platform that can function as a corrosion thickness gauge, a flaw detector, or both. This upgrade not only provides a convenient solution for inspection needs but also results in a lower cost of ownership. As part of the Krautkrämer ultrasound product family, USM Go+ and DMS Go+ users can add CL Go+ to their existing devices instead of purchasing a separate precision thickness gauge, as a more cost-effective option.
