Waygate Technologies Expands Remote Visual Inspection Capabilities with Next‑Generation Mentor Flex+

  • Interchangeable QuickChange probes allow a single system to adapt to diverse inspection environments
  • Makes advanced 3D measurement and enhanced image quality accessible to a broader range of segments
  • Comes with InspectionWorks, a secure and scalable cloud-based inspection platform

Huerth, Germany and Skaneateles, NY – May 6, 2026 – Waygate Technologies, a Baker Hughes business and market leader in non-destructive testing (NDT) solutions for industrial inspection, is expanding its VideoProbe™ portfolio with the next generation of its established borescope for remote visual inspection (RVI) in the mid-market segment. The new Everest Mentor Flex+ builds on the proven design, durability, and image quality of its predecessor by introducing interchangeable probe technology and advanced 3D measurement capabilities. Designed for everyday use in challenging environments, including the highly regulated aerospace and energy sectors, this system provides a comprehensive solution for thorough asset inspections.

The Everest Mentor Flex+ delivers enhanced image quality on its WXGA display.

“As industrial inspection environments evolve, our customers need versatile equipment that adapts to various tasks efficiently,” said Michael Domke, General Manager Visual at Waygate Technologies. “With the latest release of Mentor Flex+, we are delivering a practical solution. The addition of QuickChange probes empowers technicians to address many inspection needs with a single handset. This improves overall efficiency and helps reduce the cost of ownership.”

Adaptability for varying inspection needs

To support today’s workforce in managing complex assets, Mentor Flex+ features QuickChange interchangeable probes, available in 4.0 mm and 6.1 mm diameters, with a 6.2 mm working channel probe for foreign object retrieval. The system includes a compact camera head option on the 6.1 mm probe, enabling technicians to efficiently navigate tight bend radii while minimizing the risk of mechanical wear or equipment damage during routine inspections.

Enhanced precision and image clarity

To assist operators in their evaluation processes and assess defects more accurately, Mentor Flex+ provides Real3D™ measurement capabilities to the mid-range market. Real3D™ creates a dynamic 3D point cloud allowing inspectors to not only capture images, but quantifiable data - depth, , surface profiles, and defect dimensions - with sub-millimeter accuracy.

QuickChange Probes allow to seamlessly adapt Everest Mentor Flex+ for various inspection challenges.

This advanced measurement feature is complimented by high-resolution image quality displayed on a large WXGA (Wide XGA) LCD touchscreen, enhancing flaw visibility. The video borescope also includes Automatic Adaptive Noise Reduction (ANR) to minimize visual interference, providing operators with a clearer view of potential defects. Additionally, the probes feature a new Always-Up gravity sensor, which provides a real-time Up-direction indicator, while the Auto-Rotate mode keeps the display oriented correctly to facilitate spatial awareness and navigation.

Automated data management for faster decisions

The Mentor Flex+ streamlines data analysis and reduces administrative tasks for inspection teams with updated wireless connectivity and advanced data handling protocols. The system is fully compatible with Waygate’s software platform InspectionWorks, a secure and scalable cloud-based inspection platform that integrates every component of the non-destructive testing, turning data into useful intelligence for faster and better decisions. Moreover, the new video borescope features Menu Directed Inspection (MDI), which guides users through standardized workflows and intelligently auto-tags data. The integrated Push2IW function enables automatic data transfer to the InspectionWorks cloud for secure storage and structured reporting.

Tested durability for industrial environments

Operational efficiency is further supported by the system's ability to operate and capture clear images at temperatures of up to 100°C (212°F). This thermal tolerance reduces downtime by eliminating the need for inspection professionals to wait for aircraft engines or industrial machinery to cool before inspecting them.

Everest Mentor Flex+ comes in a durable, portable case, ready for demanding industrial environments.

Built for demanding industrial applications, the newest addition to the Mentor VideoProbe™ portfolio maintains the line’s signature rugged, ergonomic design. Housed in a military-grade aluminum casing with Gorilla® Glass, Mentor Flex+ is built and tested to MIL-STD-810H specifications. This ensures reliable operation across varying environmental conditions.

The Mentor Flex+ video borescope is now available globally.
